Venezuelan Commitment to fight against the Climatic Change .

I have just committed myself to fight against the climatic change in my daily life, my home, my country and the world. Thousands of people in Venezuela will sign this same commitment, organized by the Ecological Movement of Venezuela.  I commit myself:

1. To demand that my country adheres within the next 2 years to an international treaty to reduce (90% in the developed countries and more than 50% anywhere in the world) the gases causing the global heating, on time, so that the next generation inherits a healthful planet;

2. To act personally to help to solve the climatic crisis reducing as much as I can my own CO2 production and compensating the rest to turn me ‘neutral in emissions from the carbon’;

3. To fight by a moratorium in the construction of any new power plant that burns coal without the capacity to catch and safelly store CO2;

4. To drastically increase the energy efficiency  of my home, work, school, place of cult, and means of transport;

5. To fight for laws and policies promoting the use of the renewable power plants and reducing the dependency on petroleum and  coal;

6. To plant new trees and to unite with others in the preservation and protection of the forests; and 

7. To support companies and leaders who share my commitment to solve the climatic crisis and to construct a sustainable Venezuela, just and prosperous for the XXI Century.
