THE FEDERATION OF GREEN PARTIES OF THE AMERICASS

The Federation of Green Parties of the Americas (FGPA) is an international organism that groups the political Green Ecologists organizations of the American Continent. Officially it was constituted December 2 1997, in Mexico City and ratified in Bela Island, Brazil, in March of 1998. Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, as well as Venezuela, Argentina and the Dominican Republic are currently associated to the Federation.

The FGPA encourages the creation of Ecological Green Parties in all the countries of the American Continent, as a necessary via to work within the governments in the solution of the environmental problems. The members of the Federation work united to fortify the efforts destined to promote the development of a humanity that is able to live in harmony with the nature, based on the principles of Love, Justice and Freedom.

The Federation of Green Parties of the Americas participates actively in the Green Global movement, conformed by all the Ecological Green Parties of the world, grouped in the Federations of Africa, America, Asia - Pacific and Europe. The members of the Global Greens aspire to the conformation of a global ecological society that is able to harmonize the economic, social, political and cultural fields with the natural environment
